So… welcome to my blog: Ada’s Little Slice o’ the Internet.
This is where I talk about a bit of everything. I’m a writer, but working in a university pays the bills.
I love photography, especially of nature, and when I feel up to it, I enjoy cooking. I’m shooting on a Canon R7 mirrorless with the stock lens for now, but I am hoping to get something a little more portable for recording video. (Yes, my R7 works beautifully for this purpose, but it is anything but portable, especially when one is just about to go into rotator cuff surgery. Fun times that.)
I work at a university as a graduate advisor: I am definitely going to be putting some advise in here.
I’m a cat mom of three: two black cats and one orange. Both of my black cats are my girls, and my orange is my little man. The girls were both over eighteen months when they were adopted from two different animal shelters a few years apart (one is almost 10, while the other is a little over 5), while my little man (almost 3) was adopted from the same shelter as my middle girl but as a wee half-feral ginger thing.
I do currently live in Florida, but the Atlanta metro is where I call home. I’m also trying to move abroad, if at all possible. I’ll say that I’m not terribly picky about where I’m looking: the Netherlands, Iceland, Sweden, France, Belgium, Canada… I’m at CEFR-A2 French and working my way to B1; I’m also working on Swedish, just to be on the safe side.
I guess you could say I have quite a few pans on the fire, and I’m welcome to my blog anyone who is willing to take a stick around to see where this goes with me.
Anyway… with all that said, I’m going up for rotator cuff surgery later this week, so we’ll see if this turns out to be a weekly blog or a daily one.
